IT'S IN OUR DNA.
We’ve grown fast. In fact, in less than 50 years, we’ve become the world’s 20th largest company. How? By doing things differently. By challenging the status quo. And by giving our customers high quality affordable products.
And that’s all down to our people. Energetic, ambitious and innovative, they’re encouraged to think – and act – for themselves. To look at what needs doing and to come up with the best way of doing it. And to do it smarter, faster and more effectively. It’s a challenging, exciting and incredibly rewarding way of working.
WE GROW IN MANY WAYS
To grow, we do things differently. And our innovative thinking leads us into some unexpected areas. But all with a purpose. To continue our impressive progress.
WE’VE BEEN MAKING CARS FOR LESS THAN 50 YEARS
Hyundai was set up in South Korea in 1967. The first car with the Hyundai name was the Hyundai Pony. Now we’re the world’s fifth largest automotive producer, making 4.96 million units in 2014.
STEEL. ROBOTS. SHIPS. WE DON’T JUST MAKE CARS.
To make sure our cars are the highest quality, we try not to rely on others. So we produce our own steel to build them. We build the robots that make them. And we even build the ships that deliver them around the world.
BIGGER AND BETTER.
We’re the world’s 20th biggest company. And we run the world’s largest car plant at Ulsan in South Korea. Here, 34,000 people produce around 5,600 cars a day. With 58,000 trees, it’s known as the ‘forest plant’.
